I had a wonderful time exploring the Newark Museum recently with friends! There are unique permanent and traveling collections of contemporary and ancient art and objects as well as a planetarium. This photo is of a neon installation (from a traveling exhibit) which changes color to exemplify the intensity of the desert sun--very cool!
NYC SUBWAY ART
There is an awesome book covering art installations throughout the NYC Subway and MTA stations called New York's Underground Art Museum, by Bloodworth and Ayres. It was an incredible experience to ride the subway, book in hand, and experience seeing some of these treasures in person! This particular photo is one of several mosaic panels by artist Ellen Harvey at the MTA Metro-North station near Yankee Stadium.
MY FAVORITE NYC MURAL
This is on the West Side by the High Line and Whitney Museum near 14th Street--luv it!!!
This is a thousand year old adobe architecture in Taos, New Mexico! It is incredible how enduring adobe is and how it retains thermal mass.
From an ecological build using adobe, straw, bricks and bottles for World Peace & Reconciliation's Center for Peace Studies.
Powerfully moving art.
This bottle wall is from a simple survival Earthship, off-grid home in Taos, New Mexico.
